Sheri Gibbs, author and vidiographer of Traditions, is a Wisconsin native, a writer/graphic artist who began her business, Add One Creative, in 1982. In addition to freelance writing, she also offers graphic design services to businesses, individuals, and organizations. She has lived in Door County for 20 years. Over 3000 hours of work went into researching the history of the county, video taping exquisite scenes throughout two years, and editing together the elements of this amazing visual history. The video, Door County: Traditions of a Rugged Pioneer Past, chronicles the past and present of this unique part of Wisconsin -- lighthouses, shipwrecks and rescues, log cabins, fishing, forests, farms, orchards, wildflowers, Lake Michigan, and all 25 towns and villages.
Traditions evokes the beauty, history, and charm of Door County through exquisite scenes from all seasons, an outstanding musical score, and lively and interesting narration. Chan Harris, beloved former editor of the Door County Advocate shares his thoughts about Traditions of a Rugged Pioneer Past in Voyageur, one of Wisconsin's finest history magazines. After he'd watched the video the very first time, Chan sent a postcard -- it said simply:This video is a must for every Door County home library.
