A GIFT OF WOOD

A Gift of Wood offers unique and handcrafted wood pieces using the finest Wisconsin woods.

Woodworking has been part of our lives since the early 1970s. After we were married and got "sticker shock" looking at furniture prices, I said, "I could make something like that!" Over the years I made many pieces of furniture for our home and for friends and family. After encouragement from others, we decided to try our luck at selling smaller items at art fairs. When that became successful, I used the money we made to purchase quality woodworking machines for my shop, which was then in the basement of our home, much to my wife's dismay.

A few years ago, we found a beautiful piece of land in ten acres of woods in the rolling hills of southern Wisconsin, built a new home, and I now have a shop that is a separate building from the house. Betsy is still smiling! We still participate in art fairs and just recently decided to join the .com generation. Quality workmanship, both in the construction and finishing, along with customer satisfaction and reasonable prices will always be our goal.
