It all began in 1956 with Fred and Kathy Volle, who came to America from
Bavaria Germany, bringing with them, their craftsmanship. The first Bavaria
Chalet opened in 1961, introducing Madison customers to the "first Bratwurst"
in Wisconsin. Today, over 40 years later, The Bavaria Sausage Kitchen
is recognized for unmatched quality and consistency in the production
of its fine sausages. Using no artificial coloring, ingredients or fillers,
The Bavaria Sausage Kitchen produces sausage with family recipes and a
lot of pride. Each product displays the Bavaria Sausage label and U.S.
Government Inspection Seal of approval.
Bavaria makes 13 varieties of bratwurst. For your convenience, brats can
be ordered pre-cooked, ready for the grill. Or for a special treat, simmer
brats in beer and onions before grilling. Recipe included in each box.
Bavaria's specialty all beef hickory smoked "Landjager" is an outdoorsman
special treat. This trademark item is an excellent snack for children
