Catherine Forde approaches painting as a constant discovery of watercolor reacting to resists, block-outs and overlapping, always keeping a watchful eye for natural "happenings." Catherine's unique birds are painted using the same techniques as her abstractions, but reversing the process. Catherine attended the University of Wisconsin - Madison, where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Art Education with a major in Oil. Catherine has taught as an art teacher in Madison, Wisconsin; Chicago, Illinois; and in Mt. Horeb, Wisconsin. She resides in Madison, Wisconsin, and is part owner of Basketree Gifts.
