Tom Davis writes about dogs, the outdoors, and sporting and wildlife art from his home in Green Bay. The recipient of awards from the Council for Wisconsin Writers, the International Regional Magazine Association, and the Wisconsin Library Association, he is Senior Editor for Sporting Classics, Editor-at-Large for Pointing Dog Journal, and a columnist for Just Labs and Pheasants Forever. From 1986 to 2005, Mr. Davis was a staff writer and editor for Wisconsin Trails. His many books include three titles in the Why Dogs Do That series (most recently Why Puppies Do That), Just Goldens, The Little Book of Fly Fishing, and the critically acclaimed collection of hunting essays The Tattered Autumn Sky. He is currently working on books about the wildlife sculptor Walter Matia and the McCloy Collection, a one-of-a-kind private collection of contemporary wildlife and representational art.
