Casserole Dish - Rowe Pottery Historical Collection

This covered Casserole Dish is a unique yellowware piece, part of the 2015 Historical Collection by Rowe Pottery. Yellowware is a type of earthenware pottery that is named for its yellow appearance given to it by the specific clay used in its production. The casserole has a deep bowl shape and domed lid making it perfect for a sidedish or favorite casserole. The 2015 Historical Collection focuses on the farm to table movement, the idea of growing your own vegetables, storing them and using them in daily meals. Like all Rowe products, the Casserole Dish is glazed with lead-free glazes, and is safe for use in your microwave, oven and dishwasher.

Because all salt glazed pottery is handmade and hand painted, you will find originality and uniqueness in each piece. The size, shape, and pattern of each piece will vary. Also, color variations, which occur during the firing process, create the high and low color tones that give your piece its unique character.

Interest in collecting antique cobalt blue decorated salt glaze crocks and jugs was the inspiration to change the studio's pottery product line in early 1980. Rowe Pottery...
