This covered Vegetable Keeper Crock is part of the 2015 Historical Collection by Rowe Pottery. The 2015 Historical Collection focuses on the farm to table movement, the idea of growing your own vegetables, storing them and using them in daily meals. As vegetables were harvested from the garden, they were often stored in pottery crocks. Our 2 gallon lidded crock is hand turned then holes are cut into the base of the crock for airflow. This unique design will keep your potatoes, carrots, onions or other root vegetables at their freshest during storage. Like all Rowe products, the Vegetable Keeper Crock is glazed with lead-free glazes, and is safe for use in your microwave, oven and dishwasher.
Because all salt glazed pottery is handmade and hand painted, you will find originality and uniqueness in each piece. The size, shape, and pattern of each piece will vary. Also, color variations, which occur during the firing process, create the high and low color tones that give your piece its unique character.
