Diane Michaels of Green Valley Music is a singer/songwriter/storyteller who has been performing for audiences across the US and abroad for more than 25 years. Her repertoire spans many styles and includes instruments from all over the world. She plays traditional and contemporary folk, classic country, jazz, pop, multicultural, show tunes and children's music, as well as her own original material. Her performances are known for their variety and interest. She was the opening act for Brenda Lee, John Berry, and Janie Fricke, at the Crystal Grand Music Theater in Lake Delton, WI, in the mid 90's.
Diane lives with her husband of 25 years, Michael Lasceski, in the hills of South Central Wisconsin. Diane also performs with her daughter, Carmen Lasceski, a duo they call Side By Side. They have been performing together since Carmen was barely three years old.
Carmen is currently a junior at UW Platteville, where she is studying theater, violin and voice. She is an accomplished performer and composer in her own right. Carmen recently completed a trip to New York, where she studied acting and voice with industry professionals. She is represented by the Rock Agency, in Madison. As a violinist, she was a winner of the Concerto/Aria competition at UW Platteville in the spring of 2004. Carmen also won the Madison Area Piano Teacher's Association composition contest, in the senior age division in 2002. She is a self-taught pianist. Carmen has been performing with her Mom since she was three years old.
