Lisa Haefs and Jeff Winter - Win Press Authors

Lisa Haefs and Jeff Winter serve on the board of directors of the Langlade County Historical Society. Cats to Kings is the pair's second book and is published by Win Press.

Lisa Haefs is news editor for the Antigo Daily Journal, celebrating its 100th year of publishing in 2005. She is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Superior where she studied journalism, history and psychology. Haefs has written extensively on the ties northern and central Wisconsin have to major racing events around the United States. Haefs and her husband, Mike, live at Futurity Farms near Pelican Lake in northern Wisconsin where they house a handful of slow horses, a donkey, cats and a great dog.

Jeff Winter is a freelance journalist. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he studied sociology and psychology. Winter has extensive experience as a newspaper reporter for the Antigo Daily Journal and has also worked as a social worker and missionary in Wisconsin, Illinois, Missouri and Florida. Winter has authored several books on a wide variety of topics and lives in Summit Lake, Wisconsin.
