Jon Schmidt has laways had a yen for history -- especially local lore. Growing up in Park Falls, Wisconsin, Schmidt discovered his interests early, picking up a book on the Black Hawk Wars that so enthralled him that he made it the subject for his college thesis years later. His first love developed into a 27-year career as a high school social studies and history teacher in Antigo, WI. While there, Schmidt learned of an old moonshine still that once operated north of town. "If we don't save our history," Schmidt said, "nobody will." | |||||||||||||||||
