In 1949, the 0 & H Danish Bakery was founded by Christian Olesen in Racine, Wisconsin. Home to one of the largest Danish populations in the United States, Racine is located on the shores of Lake Michigan between Chicago and Milwaukee.
One of thousands who immigrated here from Denmark, Chris brought with him the "Old World" Danish pride and commitment to quality that have become 0 & H Danish Bakery hallmarks. Loved by those who long for wonderful baked goods reminiscent of old Denmark, 0&H Danish Bakery grew. Soon, his son, Raymond, joined Chris. Having mastered the skills taught him by his father, Ray's natural abilities and love of baking assured this tradition would continue.
Over the years, a strong sense of family commitment evolved, as Ray, his wife Myrna, and their three sons, Dale, Michael, and Eric, all devoted their time and energy to produce the finest, authentic Danish Bakery in the country. The wonderful aroma of fresh-baked breads, cinnamon rolls, pies, cakes, cookies, and a host of other delicious bakery fill the air throughout the neighborhood.
Now, nearly fifty years after its founding, a fourth generation of Olesens is entering the family business. That's great news for all who have come to enjoy their wonderful creations, especially 0 & H Danish Kringle!
