Maple Farmers, Ken & Ruth Rupp, welcome you to Ocooch Mountain Acres. Our mission is to provide quality maple products and service, honor God, protect the environment, support the community and have fun! Ocooch Mountain Acres consists of: The Farm: Ocooch Mountain Acres farmland was deeded from the United States government to the first farmer in May 1854. Ken and Ruth became caretakers of this piece of land in May 1991. This 160-acre farm is a prime example of God's perfect creation of the beautiful Ocooch Mountains and Kickapoo River Valley of Southwest Wisconsin. The farm is on one of the highest of the Ocooch Mountains, just one mile east of the West Fork of the Kickapoo River and the trout fishing community of Avalanche. There is a one-mile long hiking trail through the farm from which you will have a ten- mile view of the surrounding hill, valleys and the maple forest. The Factory: In May 1999, Ocooch Mountain Acres started offering private label manufacturing & distribution services for maple products which required a larger facility. They purchased a 7,000 sq. ft. historic building that had been a feed mill that served farmers in our area since 1905. This building is located in downtown Westby, a small (2,000 people) Norwegian heritage village just ten miles from our farm. The food processing plant is located on the first floor of the old mill. | |||||||||||||||||
