The artist uses various textured glass and a mixture of colors in each piece to create an eye-catching effect. Susan believes that one should not be bound by traditional methods of stained and leaded glass, but rather one should be free to explore ideas that “transcend the typical”. Her designs are contemporary and abstract with a bit of whimsy. She uses only lead-free solder when constructing her pieces. Susan Corkum’s work has been sold through art dealers and stores in Wisconsin, and Illinois as well as to private collectors. Her work has been shown at Gallery 218 and the Schlueter Art Gallery, both in Milwaukee, the Anderson Art Center in Kenosha, and the John Michael Kohler Arts Center in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Her work has also been displayed and sold at fine arts and craft shows in Illinois, Milwaukee, Washington, Ozaukee and Waukesha Counties. Professional Memberships - | ||||||||||||||||
