The company's history began in 1916 when Joseph and Lottie Helminiak founded a confectionery company, named Quality Candy, in Milwaukee. Over the years, Quality Candy grew and in the 1960's purchased Buddy Squirrel, a nut roasting, gourmet popcorn and snack mix company in Milwaukee, and became known as Quality Candy/Buddy Squirrel. Following years of continued success and growth, the company was recently purchased and renamed Buddy Squirrel LLC. Using pure Swiss-style chocolate and other premium ingredients of the freshest and finest quality, Buddy Squirrel's traditional home-style recipes have pleased generations of customers in Wisconsin and across the country.
