Rustic Books LLC evolved in 1997 from a simple curiosity to know more about my father's service in the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC). A microfilm journey of newspaper articles from the Macoupin County Enquirer in Carlinville, Illinois, and the Mellen Weekly-Record from Mellen, Wisconsin helped recreate the life, times, and newsworthy events during the Great Depression. I especially wanted to understand the impact these events had on a 21-year old who would not have had a future without the CCC.
Rustic Reflections Of Copper Falls State Park contains the National Register nomination of the entire park site in the areas of rustic architecture, conservation and tourism. It is the first park site nomination of its kind in Wisconsin and will be used as a model in which all other State Register nominations will follow.
Rustic Books LLC is the name through which books are written, self-published, marketed, and sold by Mary Schueller to tell this important story to the next generation. The company was founded and licensed to sell books in the state of Wisconsin in 2005.
