Artist Mary Staeben has worked in various media over the past 30 years, including fiber art, sketching, watercolor, sculpting and carving. She and her family moved to the Wisconsin Northwoods about 25 years ago and the area influenced her art. The northern landscape, waterscape and wildlife have become her main subjects. Her custom wildlife art and home décor pieces are individually hand-carved in relief to bring out the dimension and realism of the piece and then paint washed to allow the wood grain to show and add to the richness of the scene. Her art turned from hobby to business four years ago.
