Program 1: The Edge Of The Marsh feaures the following species: American Robin, One Angry Chipmunk, Blue Jay, Mourning Dove, Gray Catbird, Yellow Throated Vireo, Great Blue Heron, Northern Cardinal, Downy Woodpecker, Canada Geese, Rosebreasted Grosbeak, Wood Thrush, Eastern Pewee, Veery, and a Northern Oriole. (Although most of the geese have left the marsh for permanent nest sites.)
Program 2: The Edge Of The Woods features the following species: Yellow-headed Blackbird, Canadian Geese, Red-winged Blackbird, Song Sparrow, Mourning Dove, Mallard Duck, Common Yellow Throat, Black & White Warbler, Brown Headed Cowbird, Common Pintail Duck, Blue Winged Teal, Red Tailed Hawk, Sand Hill Crane, and Whip-Poor-Will. Although not really noted for its woodland, Horicon marsh has a large foot trail complex. Located on both north and south ends of the marsh, the trails will take you through rich and diverse, woods, fields, and marsh. Here you can enjoy the courtship sounds and sights of the annual rites of spring.
