George Vukelich at one time contributed two columns weekly to Isthmus of Madison, did a monthly column for Wisconsin Outdoor Journal, and hosted the program Pages from a North Country Notebook, Sunday nights on Wisconsin Public Radio. His environmental essays have appeared in numerous newspapers and magazines and have been honored by Milwaukee Press Club awards, The Gordon MacQuarrie Award from the Wisconsin Academy of Arts, Letters and Sciences, and the Outdoor Writing Award from the Council of Wisconsin Writers. Vukelich is also the author of Fisherman's Beach, originally published by St. Martin's Press and now available in a paperback edition from North Country Press.
