Betsy Reese Grant grew up in the small friendly tourist town of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin. During college, she spent a year studying in Japan, where she met her future husband Vernon. After their marriage in 1978, they settled in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where Betsy pursued a career in selling health club memberships. They enjoyed travel, taking many trips to Wisconsin and other places in the US and beyond. After Vernon passed away in 2006, Betsy stayed in the Cambridge area until 2011 when she returned to Wisconsin. At that time she worked on organizing Vernon's writings and cartoons from his Vietnam War days. Adventures of Point-Man Palmer in Vietnam has enabled Betsy to begin to fulfill her dreams of becoming a writer and exposing Vernon's work to new audiences.
