This knife block is available in your choice of layers of cherry and walnut, OR layers of oak and walnut, OR layers of hickory and walnut. It is ideal for most steak knife sets and will keep them safe and handy on your table. As with all our blocks, a clear lacquer varnish ensures a long-lasting, durable finish. Felt dots on the bottom keep your table surface from being scratched.

Please note that no stain is used on any of our wood pieces. All woods are shown in their natural colors and are finished with a clear lacquer. The lacquer does not change the natural color of the wood. Cherry will naturally darken with age and become a deeper red. Walnut is a deep brown, and red oak is a light tan. Please take time to look at the photos, which illustrate the natural colors of the various woods.

I bought this to pair up with a set of steak knives I had bought as a gift, that came in a crappy falling apart box. This block is perfect! The size is just right to set out on the counter or center of the table. It also has a great feel and weight to it and of course the wood itself is beautiful! Arrived within a few days and was packaged and protected well.
