Jumpin' Jackie, The Cow that Jumped Over the Moon, a children's book by Wisconsin author Jack May, tells the amusing story of a little calf who was born to jump. Although it was unusual for a calf to leap, bound and jump off the ground, Jumpin' Jackie showed that with hard work and a great attitude, the sky was the limit! This charming children's book, illustrated by Jeremy Provost, is a great gift for Christmas, a birthday or any special occasion!

After attending the University of Wisconsin-Madison, he worked for several years as a beef herdsman for the University in the late 1950's. Much of his work with Kent Feeds involved working with 4-H and Future Farmers of America (FFA). He served on numerous boards and organizations and was awarded FFA's highest award, the Honorary American Farmer Degree in 1998. Retired since 2002, Jack continues to support 4-H and FFA and donates a portion of the proceeds from his book to these organizations.

Classic children's story with a life lesson twist

Posted by LocalEdge on Nov 30th 2011

This book is worth buying for the incredible illustrations alone. This classic children's story is brought to us via a lesson on the challenges we meet working our way through life and how important it is to believe in ourselves and to follow our dreams. I purchased 2 for grandchildren and one for my home library.
