Kohler Chocolates began when, after observing the creation of chocolates in a nearby community, which sparked his recollection that taste seldom matched anticipation, Herb Kohler decided that the world needed a better "Turtle.”
He discussed the idea with Ulrich Koberstein, Group Director-Culinary Arts, at The American Club®, the Midwest's only AAA Five Diamond resort hotel, and together they felt the chefs would enjoy the challenge of trying to create the best in the world.
Hundreds of samples later, most of which were tasted by both Mr. Kohler and his Director, they launched KOHLER Chocolates with a batch of "Terrapins" that guests of the hotel and associates of Kohler Co. acknowledged unparalleled.
