"Very Sweet Treat!"
6/27/2013 By Sarah

This lasted less then 40 minutes in our house of 3! It is too bad you can only get it one month out of the year! Not ever having a Kringle I didn't know what to expect....it was really sweet, moist, and seemed fresh. It arrived in good condition. It didn't seem to have a lot of the Rhubarb flavor to it or maybe the sweet just overpowered it. It was smaller then I had hoped for the price. Will order again for special occasions.

Rhubarb Kringle

The Rhubarb Kringle with its special tasty flavor is only available during the month of June when rhubarb is ripe for picking. The red colored stalks of tart rhubarb are cooked and sweetened before baking inside the famous kringle pastry. This pastry itself, made by O and H Danish Bakery requires a minimum of three days preparation. Layer upon layer of golden Wisconsin creamery butter is folded and rolled into the pastry dough. The result is a deliciously rich, yet feather-light and flaky pastry. Kringles are oval and measure 10.5 x 13 in. Each Kringle serves 8-12 people. Kringles can be frozen for 5-6 months.

In 1949, the 0 & H Danish Bakery was founded by Christian Olesen in Racine, Wisconsin. Home to one of the largest Danish populations in the United States and now known for the danish kringle. One of thousands who immigrated here from Denmark, Chris brought with him the "Old World" Danish pride and commitment to quality that have become 0 & H Danish Bakery hallmarks. Loved by those who long for wonderful baked goods reminiscent of old Denmark, 0&H Danish Bakery grew...
