Thorp, Wisconsin. Rolf and Marieke Penterman moved from the Netherlands to Wisconsin in 2002 to follow their passion for dairy farming. However, they missed the Gouda cheese of their homeland. As the owners of a dairy farm with a steady access to milk, they decided to make their own. Marieke Gouda launched in 2006.
Marieke Gouda is an authentic Dutch cheese with milk pumped directly from the milking parlor to the cheese vat. Marieke Gouda combines farm-fresh Wisconsin milk with other Dutch ingredients. At their core, Rolf and Marieke believe well-treated cows produces the best quality milk, and that great milk makes great cheese.
