Creamed Smoked Turkey over Toast

A tasty alternative to chipped beef, this smoked turkey dish will be a hit with the whole family.

Serves: 4-6

Ingredients

  • 4 cups Nueske smoked turkey, diced into cubes
  • 1 1/2 cups peas, frozen
  • 1 cup half and half
  • 2 cups milk
  • 6 Tbsp butter
  • 6 Tbsp flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 - 3/4 tsp pepper
  • 8 slices warm toast

Directions

  1. Place peas in colander, run under hot tap water until thawed
  2. In 10-inch skillet over medium low heat, melt butter
  3. Stir in flour with fork or whisk until blended
  4. Gradually stir in milk and half & half; simmer until thickened
  5. Add turkey, peas, salt and pepper
  6. Heat just to boiling
  7. Serve immediately over warm toast
