The Rhubarb Kringle with its special tasty flavor is only available during the month of June when rhubarb is ripe for picking. The red colored stalks of tart rhubarb are cooked and sweetened before baking inside the famous kringle pastry. This pastry itself, made by O and H Danish Bakery requires a minimum of three days preparation. Layer upon layer of golden Wisconsin creamery butter is folded and rolled into the pastry dough. The result is a deliciously rich, yet feather-light and flaky pastry. Kringles are oval and measure 10.5 x 13 in. Each Kringle serves 8-12 people. Kringles can be frozen for 5-6 months.
